Who
are your teachers?
All
our SAT teachers have advanced college degrees and many are
university professors. They have years of experience and are
very learned in their respective fields of expertise. Our
teachers have received many teaching awards are dedicated to
helping you to receive your goals. They have received training
in brain-based and learner-centered teaching, and thus, they
don’t only know their area of expertise but also how to teach it
to you most effectively.
How
many students are there in Brain Station Tutoring Center’s SAT
class?
The
maximum amount of students per class is only 12.
Should I choose private tutoring or classroom course?
If you
are seeking a highly personalized and most time-effective study
program, our private tutoring is for you. Our tutor works with
you one-on-one for 60 hours! You will get the same material as
the classroom course students: four full length practice exams,
review session for each test, and free comprehensive class
material. In addition, you receive individual attention to
pinpoint specific strengths and weaknesses, rather than covering
a prescribed curriculum at a predetermined pace in the
classroom. Tutoring is extremely beneficial when you have only
one or two areas of difficulty. In such circumstances your
teacher can create a course that covers only those problem
areas, and eliminate areas that you already know. Students with
learning difficulties are also likely to learn best in this kind
of setting. For these students we select an instructor who
specializes in learning disabilities. The tuition fee for this
tutoring is affordable, only $1, 500. However, the classroom
course is the most cost-efficient way to cover all topics of the
SAT, and should be selected by any student who wants to
thoroughly review the entire test. Some student may also
benefit from the support of classmates working towards the same
goal. For only $750 you receive 66 hours of tutoring in small
classroom setting. We make it easy for you to fit our SAT into
your busy schedule: you can choose a morning or evening class,
and study during the weekends or weekdays. If needed, a few
hours of tutoring can be purchased after the SAT course to
master some topics that the student still find difficult.
Do
I have to pay a materials fee in addition to the course tuition?
No.
There is no additional materials fee in our SAT preparation
class or in our private tutoring option. The tuition that you
pay includes all materials, which are yours to keep once the
course has ended.
Is
there a deadline to enroll?
There
is no official deadline to sign up for our courses, but since
the maximum amount of students we accept is only 12 students per
class we recommend enrolling at least two to three weeks prior
to the starting day to ensure a seat.
Will I lose my entire payment if I withdraw from the course
before it starts?
After
you have paid for the class you have 10 days to cancel your
participation. If we receive your written cancellation during
this time our SAT course is fully refundable.
What if you miss a class?
If you
miss a lecture you can always take it with another class should
there be room in the class (There can never be more than 12
students in a class). If this is not possible we ask you to
review this lesson before the next class. If you miss a practice
pest, please take the test at home under timed conditions. You
can find the directions at the beginning of each test's answer
sheets. If you miss a test review, we ask that you either
review the incorrect answers at home or take this class with
another group provided that there is room in the class.
Do
you have classes for SAT Subject Tests?
So far
we only offer SAT preparatory class and no class for SAT subject
test. However, if you can find 5 friends who would like to take
such class we would love to custom make it for you.
Can
I take your SAT courses to prepare for the PSAT?
Yes.
With the exception of the essay, all other concepts and
question types on the SAT are identical to those on the PSAT.
Will you provide me any help during the college application
process?
Yes, we offer comprehensive
college admission program.
