What is the SAT?
The
SAT is a standardized paper-and-pencil test administered by The
College Board that measures your critical thinking skills. It
tests your ability to analyze and solve problems in math,
critical reading, and writing.
The
SAT is 3 hours and 45 minutes long and is divided into the

What is
the range of possible SAT scores?
Each
section is scored from 200-800 each, giving a total range of
600-2400 points. The essay is scored from 0-12, which is
included as 1/4 of the total Writing score.

Although the
exam is administered several times a year, most high school
students take the SAT in the spring of their junior year and/or
the fall of their senior year. Registration deadlines tend to
fall approximately five weeks before each test date.
